KENTUCKY - TOXIC COAL MINE SLUDGE

A few months ago, I learned of a handful of people who were collecting toxic coal mine sludge and purifying it into iron oxide paint pigment. Unfortunately, most of the information I could find about this process was over ten years old. I put some feelers out in coal mine country and finally got a lead. So, we jumped on a plane headed for Kentucky only to find out that that lead was inaccurate. This trip seemed to go wrong more than it went right. This project is a result of that journey.
