KOGI POPORO SHELL WHITE
When meeting with the Mamo, tho Kogi spiritual leader. we were invited to ask any question we had which gave me the opportunity to not only learn more about these fascinating people, but to dig deeper into the sea shell pigment I was hoping to obtain. We learned that the process of turning the shells into powder was a closed religious practice that we would not be able to witness let alone film, but that we would be able to obtain the powder itself and that this powder would be blessed by the Mamo himself.
