Of Rock & Earth & The Burning of Bone - Series 2022
After working on my previous series for two years, I needed to take a step back. So I did exactly that. I took a step back and then a step back beyond that. I wanted to dig far beyond the tragedy that inspired that original series and take a deeper look at not only myself, but my process and my materials. This time of reflection led me down an amazing rabbit-hole of ancient alchemical practices, Hermetic principles, and raw earth pigments - colors that come from rock, and earth, and the burning of bone. This series is the result of that journey.
