To collect the pigment I used in this piece, I traveled to southern Portugal. After living within the ancient walls of Faro and stepping into a church made entirely of the skulls and bones of dead monks, I made my way to the sea cliffs of Lagos to find an collect from a thin vein of mineral green earth pigment.
